Besides reading and saving physical iButton keys, you can emulate them with your Flipper Zero. On this page, you’ll find instructions on how to create a virtual version of an iButton key and emulate it using your Flipper Zero.

# Creating virtual iButton keys

To create a virtual iButton key, do the following:

::::WorkflowBlock

Go to **Main Menu** **-> iButton -> Add manually**.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Select the iButton protocol from the list:

- **Dallas DS1990**
- **Dallas DS1992**

After adding a new virtual iButton key, you can **emulate** it. Manually added Dallas keys can be [written to a blank or a key of the same type](https://docs.flipper.net/zero/ibutton/write).
