Flipper Zero allows you to read, save, and emulate 125 kHz RFID cards. A 125 kHz RFID card is a [transponder](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transponder) that stores a unique identification number. When scanned with a reader, a 125 kHz card transmits its ID number. If the card has the supported protocol, Flipper Zero can read and save the ID number.

On this page, you’ll learn how to read, save, and emulate 125 kHz RFID cards with your Flipper Zero.

# How to read 125 kHz cards

To read and save the 125 kHz card’s data, do the following:

:::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Go to **Main Menu** **-> 125 kHz RFID**.
:::

::::WorkflowBlockItem
Press **Read**, then hold the card near your Flipper Zero’s back.

:::Iframe{iframeHeight="0" code="<div class=&#x22;warning flipper-callout&#x22;>&#xA;    <div class=&#x22;callout-header&#x22;></div>&#xA;    Don’t move the card while reading. The reading process might take up to several seconds because Flipper Zero switches codings and tries to match the card’s protocol with the list of supported protocols. &#xA;</div>"}

:::

While reading, Flipper Zero switches between ASK and PSK codings every three seconds to read data from the 125 kHz RFID card.

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Once the reading is finished, you’ll see the card’s data on the screen.

## If reading failed

- The card might be using NFC technology. -> Read the card with the [NFC application](https://docs.flipper.net/zero/nfc).

- Flipper Zero switches codings every three seconds. Some cards might not be read because it can require up to 10 seconds to read data. -> [Read the card with a preselected ASK or PSK coding](https://docs.flipper.net/zero/rfid/read#A28I4).

## Reading with a preselected coding

Flipper Zero allows you to read 125 kHz RFID cards with a preselected ASK or PSK coding.

To read and save the 125 kHz card’s data with a preselected coding, do the following:

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Go to **Main Menu** **-> 125 kHz RFID -> Extra Actions**.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Select **Read ASK** or **Read PSK**.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Hold the card near your Flipper Zero’s back.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
After reading, go to **More** **-> Save**.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Name the card, then press **Save**.

# Emulating 125 kHz RFID cards

Flipper Zero can emulate saved 125 kHz RFID cards by doing the following:

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Go to **Main Menu** **-> 125 kHz RFID -> Saved**.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Select the card you want to emulate, then press **Emulate**.

:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Hold your Flipper Zero near the reader, the device’s back facing the reader.
