Desktop

The Desktop is your digital pet’s home. It’s the place to see what your dolphin pet is doing and how it’s feeling. Also, here you’ll find the status bar with different indicators, such as battery level, charging status, Bluetooth connectivity, microSD card status, and others.
On this page, you’ll learn about the Desktop, status bar indicators, and what menus and apps you can access from there.
At the top of the Desktop, there’s a status bar displaying various icons that provide key information about your device’s current status and activity.

You might see the following indicators:

The battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging Flipper Zero.

The battery is charging.

Technical issue — please reboot your Flipper Zero. If the issue persists, contact support.

The microSD card is mounted and operates normally. Learn more about using microSD cards on Flipper Zero.

The microSD card mounting failed. Learn how to fix this in MicroSD card setup.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is active. Learn more.

Flipper Zero is connected to another device via BLE.

Flipper Zero is locked. Learn more.

Flipper Zero is muted — no vibro and sound. Learn more.

Flipper Zero is connected to a computer via qFlipper or Flipper Lab.

Flipper Zero is in Dummy Mode: the device disables most of its functions and turns into a gaming device. Learn more.

An external module is connected to your Flipper Zero via the expansion module protocol. Learn more about Flipper Zero GPIO pins.

Flipper Zero is in BLE beacon mode the device broadcasts a BLE signal that is picked up by the FindMy Network. This functionality can be enabled with the FindMy Flipper app.

An app is running in the background.
While on the Desktop, you can use the following default shortcuts to access the Main Menu, Archive, Device Info, and customizable quick access apps:

You can reassign some of the shortcuts as described in Settings.
The Main Menu provides access to various features, settings, and apps. To access the Main Menu, press the %ok%OK button while on the Desktop.

In the Lock Menu, you can lock your Flipper Zero with and without a PIN code, activate Dummy Mode, and mute the device. To enter the Lock Menu, press %up%UP while on the Desktop.

By default, this option locks the controls of your Flipper Zero. To unlock the controls, press the %back%BACK button three times.
To protect your device against unauthorized access, you can lock your Flipper Zero with a PIN code. To learn more, visit Settings.
This function disables sound and vibro notifications on your Flipper Zero.

In this mode, Flipper Zero disables most of its functions. You can customize the controls by assigning quick access apps of your choice to the %left%LEFT, %right%RIGHT, %down%DOWN, and %ok%OK buttons.

Here, you can view your digital pet’s profile for details such as the unique name, appearance, mood, level, and progress.

You can also access your digital pet’s passport by going to Main Menu -> Settings -> Passport.
The Archive app lets you quickly access and manage saved tags, keys, remotes, payloads, and other apps.

The Archive app consists of several tabs. You can navigate among them by pressing the %left%LEFT and %right%RIGHT buttons:
- Browser: user and system files
By selecting a tag, key, or remote and pressing the %ok%OK button, you access the contextual menu, which allows you to emulate, add to the Favorites tab, rename, or delete the data.

To access the contextual menu in the Favorites tab, press and hold the %ok%OK button.
You can easily access information about your Flipper Zero firmware and hardware by pressing and holding the %down%DOWN button while on the Desktop.

The Quick Access Apps feature allows you to assign apps to the pad buttons and open them directly from the Desktop. This way, you won’t need to look for them in the Main Menu whenever you want to run them.
